Preference note · six months
Cookies on this website
This page explains how Your Brand Works Pte. Ltd. uses cookies and similar storage on yourbrandworks.pro. The atelier keeps the arrangement small: a necessary preference that remembers a visitor’s choice, and an optional Google Maps embed on the contact page. Nothing here is a marketing scoreboard. The practice does not place advertising pixels, does not run remarketing tags, and does not sell cookie-derived lists. The companion privacy notice describes personal data more broadly; this note is the narrower account of storage in the browser.

What a cookie is, in this house
A cookie is a short text file that a website asks the browser to keep. Some cookies are essential to remember a choice the visitor has just made; others call a third-party service into the page. The atelier treats the second kind as optional. Local storage and similar browser mechanisms, when used to hold the same preference, are described here in the same breath as cookies, because the effect on the visitor is the same: a small record that the site may read on a later visit.
The banner that appears on a first visit offers three paths: Accept all, Reject all, and Customise. Accept all permits the necessary preference cookie and the Google Maps embed. Reject all keeps only what is required to remember that refusal, so the banner need not reappear on every click. Customise opens a short panel in which the Maps checkbox can be switched independently. Saving that panel writes the same six-month preference as the two larger buttons.
Categories the atelier uses
Two categories are recognised on this site. The first is necessary storage. It exists so that the banner can honour a decision already taken, so that a form can be used without the page forgetting its own state, and so that the site remains readable when JavaScript is available. Necessary cookies are not used to build a profile of the visitor, and they are not shared with advertising networks. The necessary checkbox in the customise panel is shown as checked and disabled because the site cannot function as designed if it is forbidden from remembering that a choice was made.
The second category is the optional maps category. It is used only if the visitor accepts it. When it is on, the contact page may load an embedded map from Google so that 61 Amoy Street, #04-02, Singapore 069878 can be seen in its street context. When it is off, the embed is not requested, and the page still carries the address, telephone and email in ordinary text. There is no third category on this site: no analytics suite, no social plug-in farm, no A/B testing harness that would require its own consent box.
Durations
The preference that records Accept all, Reject all, or a custom mix is stored for six months from the day it is saved. After that period the banner may appear again so that the visitor can confirm or change the choice. Six months is long enough that a returning correspondent is not asked the same question every week, and short enough that the atelier does not pretend a decision is permanent. If the visitor clears site data in the browser, the preference disappears with it and the banner will show once more.
Cookies or tokens that Google may set when the Maps embed is allowed follow Google’s own durations, which the atelier does not control. Those durations can be longer or shorter than six months. The only duration the atelier itself promises is the six-month life of the preference record written by this site’s script. Necessary session marks that exist only while a tab is open expire when the session ends.
Vendor list
The first-party vendor is Your Brand Works Pte. Ltd., 61 Amoy Street, #04-02, Singapore 069878. The atelier’s own script writes the preference cookie or equivalent storage so that the banner and the maps checkbox remain consistent across pages. That storage does not leave the visitor’s browser for an advertising exchange. Questions about it may be sent to privacy@yourbrandworks.pro or to hello@yourbrandworks.pro.
The third-party vendor named on this site is Google, for the Google Maps embed on contact.php. When the maps category is accepted, the browser may request map tiles, scripts and related resources from Google’s domains. Google may then collect technical data such as Internet protocol address, browser type, approximate location derived from that address, and interaction with the map controls. The atelier does not receive a named dossier from that request; the collection sits with Google under Google’s own terms and privacy documentation. No other third-party cookie vendor is authorised on yourbrandworks.pro as of the date of this note.
The managed web host that serves the pages from Singapore-region infrastructure is not treated as a cookie vendor. It delivers the HTML, CSS and scripts the atelier publishes. It does not place a marketing cookie on the visitor’s machine on the atelier’s behalf.
How to opt out and how to change a choice
A visitor who has accepted Maps and later prefers a quieter page can open the banner again by returning to this cookies note and using Customise, or by clearing the site’s stored data and answering the banner afresh. Reject all is the shortest refusal: the embed will not load. Browser settings also allow cookies to be blocked or deleted for all sites; if necessary cookies are blocked entirely, the banner may reappear more often and some page behaviour may be less tidy, though the public text of the site remains readable.
Opting out of Google’s own advertising or measurement products, where those products are encountered elsewhere on the web, is a matter for Google’s tools and for the visitor’s browser. This site does not run those products. The atelier’s only request is that the maps category be treated as a distinct, reversible choice. Telephone and email remain available if the banner is awkward on a particular device: +65 6224 5138 and hello@yourbrandworks.pro during Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00 SGT.
Preference storage for six months
When Accept all, Reject all or Save preferences is used, the site writes a small first-party record that lasts six months. That record is the memory of the choice, not a licence to add further vendors later without asking again. If the atelier were to introduce another optional service, this page would be updated and a fresh decision would be sought. Until then, the six-month note on the banner means exactly what it says: the decision stands for half a year unless the visitor changes it sooner.
The customise panel contains two checkboxes. Necessary remains on. Google Maps embed may be switched. The Save preferences button commits that pair. There is no hidden fourth button and no silent upgrade from reject to accept. The script that reads the record lives at /js/main.js and is loaded with defer so that the page’s text is not held hostage to the banner.
Relation to the privacy notice and to the PDPA
Cookies can involve personal data when they are tied to an identifier that can reasonably identify a person. The atelier’s own preference record is a thin yes-or-no about maps and is kept in the browser. Data that Google may collect through the embed is described in a short paragraph of the privacy notice and is subject to Google’s policies. Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 still applies to personal data the organisation controls. Cookie choices do not replace the rights of access and correction described in that notice.
Changes to this cookies note
If categories, durations or vendors change, the atelier will revise this page and the date below. A material addition — for example a new embed or a measurement script — would be treated as a change that deserves a new banner decision, not a silent extension of an old six-month tick. Editorial wording may be clarified without resetting preferences when the vendors and purposes stay the same.
